We have recently received a number of queries regarding chickenpox (varicella) vaccination.

Please be aware:

• Where a hospital consultant has recommended vaccination, it is the responsibility of the hospital team to arrange and administer this, including prescribing and providing the vaccine.
• GP practices are not commissioned to provide this service and are therefore unable to routinely offer or administer the vaccine.

If you have been advised by a hospital specialist that you or your child requires the chickenpox vaccine, please contact the hospital team directly to arrange this.
