We have recently received a number of queries regarding chickenpox (varicella) vaccination.
Please be aware:
Where a hospital consultant has recommended vaccination, it is the responsibility of the hospital team to arrange and administer this, including prescribing and providing the vaccine.
GP practices are not commissioned to provide this service and are therefore unable to routinely offer or administer the vaccine.
If you have been advised by a hospital specialist that you or your child requires the chickenpox vaccine, please contact the hospital team directly to arrange this.
